Delete your account

Deleting your account is permanent. This page explains what goes, what we have to keep, and the two ways to ask for it.

In the app

Open the Account tab and tap Delete account. You will be asked to confirm twice, and the second confirmation is the point of no return. Nothing else is needed and you do not have to contact us.

Without the app

Email support@dataneverlies.app from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We use the sending address to confirm the request is yours, so a message from a different address will get a reply asking you to write from the one on the account. We respond within the window set out in our privacy policy.

What is deleted

Your account and everything attached to it: your collection, your watchlist, your price alerts, your saved scans and the photos you uploaded with them, and your conversations with the assistant. Your sign-in credentials go with the account, so it cannot be recovered and you cannot sign in again.

There is no partial option and no way to undo it. If you only want to remove one thing, you can remove individual collection items and watchlist entries in the app without deleting your account. Saved scans and assistant conversations cannot be removed one at a time today; email us and we will remove them for you.

What happens to your membership

An active membership is cancelled as part of the deletion, and you do not need to cancel it first. Two things are worth knowing before you do it:

The cancellation is immediate, not at the end of the period. Cancelling in Settings keeps your access until the period you have paid for runs out; deleting the account ends it there and then, because the account it belongs to no longer exists.

Charges already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it. See the Terms of Service for the full billing terms. If you want to stop paying but keep your collection, cancel in Settings instead of deleting.

What we keep, and why

Billing records that tax and accounting law requires us to retain, and minimal logs kept for fraud prevention. Those are held by us and by Stripe, our payment processor, and they are not used to rebuild your account.

Everything else that is personal to you is deleted or de-identified within 30 days, and backups roll off on a fixed schedule after that. The privacy policy has the detail, including the rights you have wherever you live.

Still have a question

Ask us at support@dataneverlies.app or through the contact page. It is a better idea to ask before deleting than after.
